Mathematics 6th grade

Learning Objectives

The 6th grade Mathematics course aims to consolidate and expand the mathematical knowledge developed in the early years, promoting the mastery of natural and rational numbers, the development of initial algebraic thinking, the understanding of the main geometric figures, as well as the application of concepts of magnitudes, measurements, proportionality and statistics in everyday situations.

Throughout the course, the student will be encouraged to solve problems, argue mathematically, interpret data and use different representations, in line with the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and with the external evaluation matrices.

The contents and skills worked on in this course are aligned with the SAEB Reference Matrices for the Final Years of Elementary School, especially with regard to the axis of Numbers, Geometry, Quantities and Measurements and Information Treatment, preparing the student for external evaluations and for academic progression in the following years.

Initial preparation for SAEB – 9th grade

This course is aligned with the BNCC and develops structuring mathematical skills that progressively prepare the student for the competencies evaluated by SAEB in the subsequent stages of Elementary School.
